Μικροί Κόσμοι της Αγγελικής (Κικής) Ζαχαρίου
Τα έργα της Κικής Ζαχαρίου μας προσκαλούν σε κόσμους παράξενα οικείους και συνάμα φανταστικούς — κάπου ανάμεσα στη μνήμη, την καθημερινότητα και τη φαντασία.
Η Κική ζωγραφίζει τα τελευταία δέκα χρόνια, έχοντας αναπτύξει μια ιδιαίτερη, προσωπική ζωγραφική γλώσσα. Πινελιά την πινελιά, μικρές κηλίδες χρώματος ενώνονται σαν ψηφίδες και γεμίζουν τον καμβά: σπίτια, σκαλιά και αυλές, κλαδιά, λουλούδια, πρόσωπα, μορφές και γάτες που εμφανίζονται σε όποιον κοιτάξει λίγο πιο προσεκτικά.
Τα θέματά της είναι γνώριμα — η Χώρα της Σερίφου, οι ελιές, η θάλασσα, το φεγγάρι πάνω από τις ταράτσες, ένα καλάθι πάνω σε μια καρέκλα. Μέσα όμως από το δικό της βλέμμα, το γνώριμο μετατοπίζεται και το καθημερινό αποκτά κάτι από όνειρο.
Η ίδια λέει πως η ζωγραφική υπήρξε για εκείνη μια λύτρωση.

“Stroke by Stroke”
The Little Worlds of Angeliki (Kiki) Zachariou
Kiki Zachariou’s paintings invite us into worlds that feel strangely familiar yet imaginary — somewhere between memory, everyday life and imagination.
Kiki began painting only ten years ago, gradually developing a distinctive visual language of her own. Stroke by stroke, small touches of colour come together like pieces of a mosaic, filling the canvas with houses, steps and courtyards, branches, flowers, faces, figures — and cats that reveal themselves only to those who look a little more closely.
Her subjects are familiar: Chora of Serifos, olive trees, the sea, the moon above the rooftops, a basket on a chair. Yet through Kiki’s gaze, the familiar shifts and the everyday takes on something of a dream.
Kiki herself describes painting as a form of liberation.
