Eleni Zaras & Jacob Moe
from the research at various archives conducted by Archipelago Network at Serifos

Archipelago Network is a research and documentation initiative for the Cyclades islands, operating at the intersection of visual practices, cultural life, and the natural environment. It provides open access to its digital collections while contributing to the development of local and regional memory through on-site outreach activities. In the context of its 2024-5 project “Extraction in the Cyclades: Digital Traces,” its founder and co-director Jacob Moe visited Serifos to survey and digitize selected photographic and audiovisual collections related to the history of iron mining on the island.
