Sophie Friedman-Pappas (b. 1995, New York, NY) is an MFA candidate at the University of California Los Angeles. Recent solo and two-person exhibitions include Transfer Station at Alyssa Davis Gallery, New York, NY, organized by Octagon (2021); and Hannah Black and Sophie Friedman-Pappas at Meredith Rosen Gallery (2022). She has been included in group exhibitions at Meredith Rosen Gallery, NY (2022); Simone Subal Gallery, New York, NY (2021); in lieu, Los Angeles, CA (2021); and Cuchifritos, New York, NY (2021). Her work has been reviewed in Frieze, Brooklyn Rail, and AQNB. Friedman-Pappas has participated in residencies at the Freshkills Park Alliance, Staten Island, NY, and Pergamena Parchment and Leathers, Montgomery, NY. Her upcoming two-person exhibition with Maren Karlson will open at in lieu, Los Angeles, CA, in April 2023.
